LinkedIn – Introducing Stories & Video Meetings

LinkedIn is one of the most important social media platforms for corporate users. It is continuously improving its functionality by adding more features. The clear objective behind every new move is to facilitate users for increasing engagement and better networking. The company is enabling business owners and entrepreneurs, showing show product demos. Recently LinkedIn introduced TWO new features “Stories,” and “video chat” connecting directly from the “Messaging” tool.

Stories are like Facebook’s Story

LinkedIn released an 11-minute video informing the writers about the upcoming features. The “Stories” is like the Facebook feature called the story. Content expires after 24 hours rather than staying live on your profile forever. LinkedIn claims that “Stories” are shown on top, keeping you visible to your connections.

The Video option is a powerful feature for connecting with your network. LinkedIn says that video posts are “lightweight” and more engaging as compared to old-school status updates. These are easy to run than an article or text-heavy update. The question worth asking is how business owners would use the stories feature.

LinkedIn observed the behavior of business owners using this feature by sharing the product demo, packaging, and product or book launch information. Some entrepreneurs use their networks for insights and knowledge sharing. For helping users to familiarize themselves with new features, LinkedIn plans to provide daily prompts, called “Question of the Day.”

Messaging is now video, not the text

The covid-19 pandemic proved a blessing for many like Zoom. Inspired by the increasing calls on Zoom LinkedIn starting face-to-face video features soon. This feature will use Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans by Verizon, or Zoom–directly from LinkedIn messaging. It will help the users chat with a connection without using their Zoom or Teams account.

Do what you like!

The Coronavirus has changed the communication pattern. Home offices are flourishing, and communication is going more and more online. The use of various social media tools is increasing every day because of their ease of use and cost-effectiveness. In most cases, you only need to pay for your data bundles and internet connectivity fees.

Talking about LinkedIn, the communication options and option setting is more flexible. Stories, videos, and messaging features have options as to how you want to connect with your connections. You can choose and customize your options better suited to your needs.

Help yourself by mastering the use of social media, and you know! LinkedIn is a social media player no serious businessman can ignore.
